As you may have heard in the news recently, a virus called enterovirus-D68 (EV-68) has been spreading in several states. This virus has been causing respiratory illnesses ranging from mild cold symptoms to more serious symptoms that require hospitalization.  Read More

The No Child Left Behind Act (NCLB), which was passed by the federal government in 2001, requires that all schools' efficacy be measured annually based on their performance on standardized tests in English and Math. The state of Vermont has set the bar for what adequate student performance on these tests should be, and schools that don't meet that bar are identified under NCLB as being in need of 'improvement' or 'restructuring'.   Read More

Village of Essex Junction taxpayers will receive one consolidated tax bill notice this year from the Town of Essex that includes village municipal, village school and town municipal taxes for village taxpayers.   Read More

As the school year ended, the Essex Junction-Westford Education Association and their three employing school boards (Prudential Committee, Westford, and Essex Union #46) unanimously ratified new collective bargaining agreements for the 2014-2016 school years.   Read More

In 2011, Comcast introduced the Internet Essentials program to assist all students and families in acquiring broadband access. Internet Essentials provides a more affordable opportunity for children to be able to access online learning tools and helps eliminate the digital divide that takes place in many Vermont communities.  Read More

On Thursday, April 10, the Prudential Committee announced Suzanne Gruendling as the next Principal of Summit Street School. Mrs. Gruendling will begin on July 1, 2014.  Read More

On November 19th, Essex Rink Cafe was inspected by the Vermont Health Department and received a score of 99 out of 100. Albert D. Lawton School was inspected on October 28th and also received a high score of 97.  Read More
