Kindergarten




      We recognize and explore childrens excitement for learning. Our program gives the learning initiative to the child through: hands-on math, exploratory science, creative writig and illustrating, planning and building sturdy structures, exposure to art styles and a variety of media, re-creating life events in drama as well as acting out storybooks. The curriculum is implemented through these daily experiences balanced with teacher directed curriculum activities and projects. As a result kindergartners become independent, responsible thinkers and learners. They thrive in a classroom community that stresses acceptance of individual talents and challenges.

      We believe that the social curriculum is as important as the academic curriculum. Our goal is to create a community of students committed to friendship, respect and learning. We build this community through various activities such as Primary common Meeting, Shared Literacy Groups and common Theme Study units. We challenge our students to be active and engaged learners throughout their daily experiences with Literacy, Math, Science and Social Studies.
