Natalie Kinsey-Warnock, a Vermont author, will be visiting our school in the primary common on Thursday April 8, 2010. She will be sharing about her life as an author and her inspiration for writing with K-1 students from 10:30-11:20 am and 2-4 students from 9:15-10:15 am. You are invited to attend! See below for a list of her books.
Natalie engages her readers with stories based on her life or her family’s history. She will share many quilts with us; quilts that share a story. Art and history can be connected through quilts that tell stories. If you have a special quilt that we can hang in the primary common for Natalie’s visit on April 8th, please write or type a summary that includes your name(s), a brief background/history of your quilt, and any connections it has for your family. Feel free to write or type in a larger size font in order to easily read your information with your displayed quilt. Please send this written information in as soon as is possible so that we know what we will have to display.
We will display this information with your quilt on April 8th. Quilts can be dropped off by Tuesday April 6th so that we may have a display ready for the 8th. Thank you for considering this and sharing one of your family stories with us!
Natalie’s books include the following titles: As Long As There Are Mountains; The Bear That Heard Crying; The Canada Geese Quilt; A Christmas like Helen’s; A Doctor Like Papa; A Farm of Her Own; The Fiddler of the Northern Lights; From Dawn till Dusk; Gifts from the Sea; If Wishes Were Horses; In the Language of Loons; Lumber Camp Library; The Night the Bells Rang; Nora’s Ark; On a Starry Night; The Summer of Stanley; Sweet Memories Still; When Spring Comes; The Wild Horses of Sweetbriar .
