Westford School wishlist

Are you looking to help the school or make a donation of time or equipment?

The Westford PTO maintains a list of needs/wishes solicited from the school community.  These items represent an unfilled need and will directly enhance students learning experiences.  To donate any of these goods or services, contact Lise-Anne Cooledge (309-3115, lacool802@aol.com).

Westford PTO also welcomes suggestions of items or activities that could enrich students’ educational experiences.  If you have a suggestion, please let us know.

Materials
Item Notes
Point and shoot digital camera New or used digital cameras in good working condition, to be used and loaned out to students participating in Camera Club.
Small whiteboards New or used small sized whiteboards in good condition, to be used for quick, formative assessments.
Defribulator
Children’s size rakes For outside play and cleanup.
Snowshoes New or used in good condition, in sizes ranges appropriate for K-8 aged children. For use during winter recess.
Picnic Tables
Sandbox toys New or used sandtoys.
Sandbox toy storage bin New or used weatherproof covered storage, for use with sandbox toys.
World Drumming instruments New or used drums and percussion instruments to be used for World Drumming activities.

Volunteer Activities
Need Notes/Time commitment
Grant writer/fundraiser Individual with grant writing experience willing to assist in the creation, editing, and submission of grant requests on behalf of Westford School or Westford PTO on an as-needed basis.
Green Up Day coordinator Responsible for coordination and facilitation of Green Up Day activities for the students. May require some prep work to designate areas, acquire materials, etc. Day-of responsibilities include supervising students and arranging for trash pickup. 5+ hours of prep time, plus day-of involvement.
Scholastic Book Order coordinator Responsible for collating and placing book orders. Reoccurring time commitment of 1-2 hours as needed.
Guitar repair person Repair and refurbishing of guitars for Guitar Club. Repairs will be on an as-needed basis.
Drum repair person Repair and assembly of drum pieces in order to create a complete, usable drum kit.
Homework Mentor/support person Individuals willing to adopt a 7/8th grade for homework help, mentoring, organizing. Needed Tuesday-Friday, 8:30am-8:50am.
Volunteer instructors Individuals willing to teach photography, guitar, or percussion to interested students in an extra-curricular setting. Schedule TBD.
Volunteer classroom speakers Individuals willing to share job experiences and community stories with students. One-time commitment for 1-2 hours.
Musical Accompanist Piano player willing to volunteer their time for student musical activities. On an as-needed basis.
Framing Help framing student artwork for display in the school halls. On an as-needed basis.
Physical Plant

Fence repair Repair chain link fence at tennis courts. Some fence mending experience may be required.
