Composition Club
Mondays 11:50-12:40
This is an extra-curricular club for students in grades 5-8 who are interested in composing music. It meets in the music room during lunch and recess. Students work on compositions at home and bring them to the club meetings to share and receive feedback. Westford is a participant in the VTMidi project this year and some students will have the opportunity to post their compositions on the VTMidi site to receive feedback from composers and mentors.
Students in composition club have access to Haiku learning management software through our participation with the VTMidi project. Included with that is access to Noteflight Learning Edition. That is a free, on-line notation program. Students are also encouraged to download and use MuseScore, a free notation program that is similar to Sibelius.
