Welcome Back!
This will be an exciting year for music students at Westford! Here are some highlights of what is to come:
- The Band and Chorus will be fund raising to cover the entire cost of a field trip to participate in the High Note Festival, an adjudicated large ensemble festival.
- Students in grades 5-8 will be studying African drumming as part of a multi-disciplinary integrated unit during the second half of the year.
- Students will be exploring composition with technology and will have the option of participating in the VT Midi project.
- We will continue to share our learning through these webpages, concerts, our District Fine Arts night and Westford’s Music Sharing Night.
Important Dates:
Wednesday, September 15th 5:00 pm - Ellis music will be in the music room to complete rental contracts for band instruments
Wednesday, January 19th 7:00 pm - Winter Band and Chorus Concert (Grades 4-8)
Friday and Saturday, January 28th-29th - District Music Festival (Selected 7th & 8th Grade Students)
Wednesday, February 9th, 6:30 pm - Music Sharing Night (Grades K-4)
Friday, March 19th, 6:00 pm - District Fine Arts Night (Essex High School)
Friday, May 20th - High Note Festival (Band and Chorus, Grades 5-8)
Tuesday, May 24th, 7:00 pm - Spring Band and Chorus Concert (Grades 4-8)
