The 3/4 classes are studying about Rocks and Minerals this year. We are learning about the different uses of rocks and how houses and buildings are built with different rocks and minerals. They are also learning about the different categories of rocks such as Igneous, Sedimentary, and Metamorphic. We have been practicing putting these rocks into these categories. They also are doing the scratch test to see the hardness of their rock samples, and the acid test to see if any of their rocks have carbonate in them. If their rocks fizz, then their rocks have carbonate in them.
