Welcome to our Preschool Registration Page for CCSU.  Both the Westford School District and the Essex Junction School District offer preschool within the schools and also have slots with tuition reduction in private preschools. Below you will find a description for each:

Westford School District Preschool Opportunities

Westford Elementary school has a limited number of slots available in their school-based Preschool program. The program runs a morning and afternoon session Tuesday through Thursday during the weeks school is in session. Westford also contracts with the Children’s Preschool and Enrichment Center (CPEC) to offer additional Preschool slots. Westford uses grant funding to provide tuition reduction to a limited number of children who are Westford residents and who enroll in CPEC to pay for 10 hours of Preschool through their program in Essex Junction.

Selection for slots will be in compliance with Act 62 requirements regarding a lottery selection process. The selection process will take place in April and families will be notified of selection results prior to May 15, 2012.

Essex Junction School District Preschool Opportunities

The Essex Junction School District (EJSD) is pleased to announce preschool opportunities for EJ residents: The EJSD Preschool Program and tuition reduction through private preschool partners. The EJSD Preschool program is free to residents.  All other programs provide access to tuition reduction through the school district. Access to tuition reduction for approved private preschools is gained by sending in a request to the school district by completing the form found on the left hand menu or you may pick up a registration form at our office at 51 Park Street.

To get a slot at a private preschool, contact the preschool.  The school district provides tuition reduction but does not manage enrollment at private preschools.   Children must be 3 by September 1, 2012 to be eligible for tuition reduction.

EJSD Preschool Program: This program has been in place for many years and serves a mix of students with disabilities and non-disabled peers.  We have a limited number of slots for children who reach the age of 4 by September 1, 2012 as non-disabled peers in our classrooms.  The program provides three hours/three days a week of preschool during either morning or afternoon sessions.

The Lottery Process: We anticipate a total of 67 Essex Junction children to be provided preschool through public funds.  Slots previously used by 3-year-olds during the 2011-2012 who will be 4 this coming year do not need to re-apply for a preschool slot.  Those children are able to keep their slot for the 2012-2013 school year.  If EJSD receives more interest in slots than we have space in programs, we will complete a lottery to determine who will receive the benefit of either a slot in our Essex Junction School District Preschool, or receive tuition reduction for the private preschools.  Lottery results will be available on May 1^st, 2012.
