New Student Registration: Essex Junction Schools and Essex High School

Grades 1-3 (Summit Street School and Hiawatha Elementary)
Please download and complete the New Student Registration Packet. Return the completed packet to the CCSU Central Office (51 Park Street, Essex Junction, VT). You may also stop by the CCSU Central Office to pick up the New Student Registration Packet.
The Central Office will coordinate with school principals, who will make all placement decisions. You will be contacted by your child’s new school to set up an orientation time and/or to review your child’s classes.
You may also need to provide the following to your child’s new school:
- At least three forms of identification (for residency verification purposes)
- Immunization records
- Most recent physical
- Child’s birth certificate

Grades 4-5 (Thomas Fleming School)
Download and complete the New Student Registration Packet, along with the Learner Characteristics form. Return the completed packet and Learner Characteristics to Thomas Fleming School (9 Prospect Street, Essex Junction, VT). You may also stop by or contact Thomas Fleming School (802.878.1381) to pick up a copy of the New Student Registration Packet.
Upon completion of the materials, you will be given the opportunity for your child to receive an orientation of the school.
You may also need to provide the following to your child’s new school:
- At least three forms of identification (for residency verification purposes)
- Immunization records
- Most recent physical
- Child’s birth certificate

Grades 6-8 (Albert D. Lawton)
Contact Albert D. Lawton (802.878.1388) or click here to download and complete the New Student Registration Packet.
Return the completed packet to ADL (104 Maple Street, Essex Junction, VT). At this time, you will set up an appointment with the Guidance Office. During this appointment, your child’s class schedule will be created and your child will be given an orientation of the school.
You may also need to provide the following to your child’s new school:
- At least three forms of identification (for residency verification purposes)
- Immunization records
- Most recent physical

Grades 9-12 (Essex High School)
Starting the Process
Contact the Essex High School Registrar at 802.879.5515 to start the registration process. You may also click here to download a copy of the New Student Registration Packet. This packet contains forms that can be completed ahead of time and brought with you to your scheduled appointment (made by calling the registrar). You may also complete the packet during your registration appointment.
You will also need to provide three forms of identification (for residency verification purposes).
After Contacting the Registrar and Submitting Residency Information
An Assistant Principal will review the submitted materials. After review, you will be contacted by the EHS Registrar to schedule an appointment between your child and a school counselor. At this time, additional forms may be completed and your child’s class schedule will be set.

If your child is the first one to complete high school in your family, your child may be eligible for additional benefits. Contact the EHS School Counseling Office for details.
