All teachers and administrators working under a Vermont Educator license must join the Vermont State Teachers Retirement System (VSTRS) as a condition of employment. A copy of the Plan Description can be found on the Office of the State Treasurer’s website using the link provided.

As group C participants, members must make a contribution of 3.54% of covered earnings into the plan.  This rate will increase to 5.0% effective 7/1/10.
