VMERS
Westford support staff who meet the following criteria must join the Vermont Municipal Employees Retirement System (VMERS) as a condition of employment:
- School year employees who work a minimum of 30 hours a week on a regular basis and for not less than 1040 hours in a year.
- 12-month employees who work a minimum of 24 hours per week on a regular basis and for not less than 1040 hours in a year.
As Group B plan participants, members must make annual pre-tax contributions equal to 4.5% of their pay into the plan. Contributions shall begin immediately upon date of hire. The Westford School District will also contribute 5% into the plan.
