Summary of Benefits

Below is a summary of some of the benefits available to employees of our districts.   This information is not meant to be all encompassing and is subject to change without notice.   Please refer to the applicable master agreement or employment contract for specific eligibility information.   If the information found on this site conflicts with the master agreement/employment contract, the master agreement/employment contract shall take precedence.

  • Medical Insurance – Chittenden Central Supervisory Union (CCSU) offers three different health insurance plan options to eligible employees. All plans are provided by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Vermont (BCBSVT) through the Vermont Education Health Initiative (VEHI).   For a comparison of the three plans offered, information about employee premium contributions, and other coverage information, please click here.
  • Dental Insurance – CCSU offers group dental insurance through Northeast Delta Dental. For information about the plan, please click here.
  • Life and AD&D Insurance – CCSU provides term Life Insurance and Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) benefits to eligible employees through UNUM. The cost of the coverage is paid for by the corresponding school district.   For coverage and other  information about the plan, please click here.
  • Tuition Reimbursement – CCSU provides tuition/professional development  reimbursement to eligible employees consistent with the terms of the applicable master agreement and/or individual employment contract.   Professional development funds available are based on the UVM in-state fall tuition rates.   For more information about tuition reimbursement, please click here.
  • Leaves – CCSU provides different types of paid leaves for eligible employees.   For eligibility information, and a list of the paid leaves and defintions, please refer to the applicable master agreement and/or individual employment contract.   For additional information about paid leaves, please click here.
  • Retirement – All CCSU employees are eligible to participate in the CCSU Tax Sheltered Annuity Plan, otherwise known as a 403(b) Plan.     The 403(b) Plan is available through the Vermont State Teachers Retirement System (VSTRS) 403(b) Investment Program.   For more information about the 403(b) Plan, please click here.   All CCSU employees are also eligible to participate in the State of Vermont 457 Deferred Compensation Plan.   For  additional information about 457 deferred compensation plan, please click here.
