"If you talk to a man in a language he understands, that goes to his head. If you talk to him in his language, that goes to his heart. ~ Nelson Mandela"

              Bonjour à tous!

Why speak another language?    Listen to this 30 second video explanation    (Discover Languages)

The 1st and 3rd grade students are currently having French le vendredi (on Fridays).

K and 2nd grade students will have their first Friday en français le 12 octobre (1st class is Friday 10/12)

Trimestre 1 2012/2013: C’est l’automne!

Our time together usually begins with a song from Languages Online:

Chanson – Bonjour!

1e année (1st grade) C’est moi!

We are currently reviewing and also expanding upon vocabulary acquired last year, and have an experiential goal this trimestre of being able to introduce oneself with a puppet.

Introductions:  Listen to Caillou say “Je m’appelle Caillou”
Numbers:  à douze (to twelve) – visit Languages Online
Numbers 11 – 20 visit Languages Online encore!
Les couleurs (colors)
Comment ça va? (How are you?)
Describing oneself – parts of the body, and face

3e année (3rd grade) L’école

We are currently reviewing and also expanding upon vocabulary acquired last year, and have an experiential goal this trimestre of creating labels en français for common objects found around  the school.  Perhaps you’ve already noticed a few! Here are some links to this vocabulary (these all have audio for listening practice!):
