A Place of Wonder

by Miss McVey’s Second Graders

You got Mercury, Venus, Jupiter, Mars

Pluto, Uranus and a whole lot of stars

Neptune and Saturn, with rings of gas

Earth is the best – we saved it for last

(chorus:)

Outer space, tied with lace

A big, dark place with a freaky face

Outer space, a goal to chase

A space ship race with a wicked pace

Aliens’ eyes are creepy and red

They sleep on asteroids – those are their beds

Zooming toward us are some U.F.O.’s

Coming down to get us, removing our toes

(chorus)

Satellites, solar systems, singing a tune

Not enough air for the Man in the Moon

The hot ball of fire that fries our skin

Want to be an astronaut?  Come on in

(chorus)
