College Forms, Information and Visits for 2012 Grads

College Application Process for Seniors
Be sure to start the college application process 5-6 weeks before your first deadline.
To start the process:
1. Make an appointment with your School Counselor at least 4-5 weeks before your first college application deadline.
2. Go online to the EHS website, then to the School Counseling page. In the column on the left click on College Forms, Information, and Visits for 2012 Grads (see below)
3. Print out the college forms – Parent Information Sheet, Student Information Sheet, Student Activities Worksheet & the Recommendation Request form – fill out each form, and bring them to your meeting with your School Counselor.
4. Give a Recommendation Request Form to each person you want to write a recommendation for you (based on the college application requirements, but should not exceed 3)
Students will:
1. Fill out each college application and send it to the college (electronically or snail mail).
2. Have their official ACT or SAT scores sent directly to their colleges.
3. Make sure they have the recommendations they need for each college.
4. Check their transcript (courses & grades) to make sure everything is accurate.
School Counselors will:
1. Send Transcripts to the colleges students have chosen to apply to via the on-line Common Application.
2. Send the School Profile to the colleges students have chosen to apply to via the on-lineCommon Application.
3. Send the School Report Form to the colleges students have chosen to apply to.
4. Be available for any questions/help that seniors need during the College Application Process.
Filling out the Common Application (and other applications as well):
Some of the specific high school information you will need for the Common Application can be found either on our EHS School Profile or on your transcript (things like GPA, CEEB code, School Counseling Phone number, class size, decile, etc.).
If you have a choice to use either the Common Application or another application, please use the Common Application.
If you are NOT using the on-line Common Application to apply to a college:
Go online to the EHS website, then to the School Counseling page. In the column on the left click on College Forms, Information, and Visits for 2012 Grads and follow the directions there. (see below)

College Visits scheduled as of 3/26/2012. To participate in a college visit, sign up in the School Counseling office and get a purple pass. Attendance will be taken.
