Electronics
Course Description
The Electronics class at Essex High School will provide knowledge of DC and AC electrical theory. Series and parallel electronic circuits will be understood through opportunities to manipulate circuit board components, multimeters, and common electronic devices. Subject matter will include electron theory, electronic components, magnets, motors, generators, electrical systems, and construction of electronic devices. Students will be introduced to alternative energy sources and the impact on existing systems.
The teaching styles used in this class will vary depending upon the need and will include lecture, discussion, demonstration, watching videos, research papers, guest speakers, and student presentations. The predominant method, however, will be one of demonstration with ample hands-on time for students to learn through manipulation of the actual equipment.
