LATIN I G211
In this course students acquire the basic grammar and vocabulary of the Latin language with emphasis on its influence on the English language as well as on the Romance Languages. They are introduced to Greek and Roman culture and mythology and their influences on later civilizations. 1 Credit [FL]

 

LATIN II G212
Latin II is a continuation of the study of Latin grammar and vocabulary. Students will focus on the study of Roman history and the Roman Empire, and will read excerpts from Caesar's Gallic Wars. Instruction will include an introduction to Latin poetry. Recommendation: 80 in Latin I and recommendation of teacher. 1 Credit [FL]

 

LATIN III (G213) and LATIN IV/AP Vergil (G214)
Latin III-IV curriculum alternates between study of Advanced Placement Vergil and the study of a variety of Latin literature emphasizing the philosophy of Cicero and the lyric poetry of Catullus. Students may elect to thake the Advanced Placement Vergil exam at the completion of the course on the Aeneid. Recommendation: 80 in Latin 2 and recommendation of teacher. 1 Credit [FL]
