JROTC Parades & Ceremonies
Memorial Day Ceremony

Each Memorial Day, the JROTC Color Guard and Drill Team presents our Nation’s colors in honor of those who fought and gave their lives for America and freedom. The cadets plan and coordinate the school-wide ceremony to include a guest speaker, a performance by the drill team, firing of a howitzer, and a Vermont Air National Guard F-16 fly-by.
Parades

JROTC honors our fallen heroes, veterans, and community members alike by marching at the head of the Memorial Day Parade, Veterans’ Day Parade, and Essex High School Homecoming Parade.
All Night Vigil

On May 28th from 10:00pm to 6:00am cadets stand vigil at the five corners memorial in Essex Junction. Four cadets participate in one of the two-hour shifts. Two cadets stand vigil at any one time and relieve each other at 15 minute intervals.
