MEET THE CADET SENIOR STAFF
CADET MAJOR DAVID COMBS
CORPS COMMANDER
David Combs is the Group Commander for 2008-2009. He is heavily involved with student activities, including Chamber Choir, Pitch Pipes, Christian Youth Outreach, youth group, student ministry team, and Student Government, which he is the representative to the school board.

CADET CAPTAIN RYAN CARROLL
DEPUTY CORPS COMMANDER
Ryan Carroll is the Deputy Group Commander for 2008-2009. In addition to his responsibilities as the Deputy Commander, he is the current Drill Team Commander. Ryan has also served as the Color Guard Commander and NCO, and the Public Affairs/Recruiting Officer. Outside of JROTC, Ryan is a squadron commander in Civil Air Patrol. He has attended: CAP Basic Training Encampment; JROTC Summer Leadership School; JROTC Honors Camp, University of Oklahoma/Tinker AFB; and CAP Cadet Officer School, Maxwell AFB, AL. After high school, Ryan plans on attending Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and earning a commission in the US Air Force.

CADET CAPTAIN JONATHAN GODBOUT
OPERATIONS SQUADRON COMMANDER
Jonathan Godbout is the Operations Squadron Commander for 2008-2009. He is a senior in his fourth year of the program. He joined JROTC in his freshman year and has constantly excelled in all activities and leadership roles he has held. Activities include community service, Drill Team, and Color Guard. Jonathan has served as a Senior Logistics Assistant and Logistics NCO. After high school, Jonathan intends to graduate in the class of 2013, Champlain College.

CADET CAPTAIN MATTHEW YANDOW
SUPPORT SQUADRON COMMANDER

Matthew Yandow is the Essex High School JROTC Support Squadron Commander for 2008-2009. He joined JROTC in his freshman year. He has performed exceptionally in all areas of the JROTC. He has been a part of the color guard for three years. Matt has held the Aero Club Commander position for two years. After high school, Matt plans to complete the BTC post secondary program to become an A&P technician. He also plans to enlist in the US Army. After the main part of his career he plans to open his own business.

CADET MASTER SERGEANT RYAN WESTFALL
FIRST SERGEANT

Ryan Westfall is the Group Senior Enlisted Advisor for 2008-2009. He is a senior in his fourth year of the program. His activities include Drill Team, aero club, and Summer Leadership School. He has held the positions of Drill Team NCO and Senior Logistics Assistant. Ryan is currently working towards an FAA Airframe and Power Plant certificate to work as an Aircraft Mechanic.
