POSITIVE YOUTH SPORTS ALLIANCE AWARDS: On Tuesday, June 3, the Positive Youth Sports Alliance presented their annual awards. Dave Neil, long-time EHS football and lacrosse coach, was presented with the "Coach of the Year" Award. Patty and Nick Kent, Essex sports parents and contributors, were awarded the "Friend of the Year" Award. Congratulations to Dave, Patty and Nick on this well-deserved recognition. #3 Boys` soccer defeats #14 Lyndon Institute today, 4-0 in the first round of the Division I State Tournament. Next up are the Lakers of Colchester with the 6th seed, game time is 2pm this Saturday. GO HORNETS!
#3 Girls` soccer defeats #14 Spaulding 3-1 in the first round of the Division I State Tournament. Next up for the Hornets will be # 6 Colchester this Friday at 3pm at EHS.
#1 Field hockey will host Mount Anthony. Game time is 2pm on Saturday here at EHS.
#3 Essex Varsity football will host #6 BFA St. Albans, Friday the 24th at 7:00pm in the first round of the Division I State Tournament.
The football playoffs have arrived, and if you can`t make it to EHS`s quarterfinal matchup with BFA on Friday night you can still take in the action because the Northeast Sports Network will be airing the game live on the internet. CONCUSSIONS: In high school sports, concussions are becoming an increasing concern. Our athletic training staff and our coaches are in full compliance with all legal requirements with regard to education and concussion management. And nothing is more important to us than the
