2007-2008 Results

10/31/07 - Hanover - This is an informal round robin followed by an eight team single elimination playoff. Our team went 7 - 3 and made it into the playoffs. We lost to Burlington in the first round.

11/1/07 - Regional Match - This is the first of two games that determine the Champlain North Regional Champion and our seeding the Vermont State Championship Tournament. The Champlain North Region consists of Colchester, Essex, Milton and MMU. The scores were as follows:

11/14/07 - Regional Match - This was the second game to determine the Champlain North Regional Champion. MMU won that title, Essex was second. The scores for this day were as follows:

12/07/07 - NAQT Qualifier at South Burlington High School - This was a tournament with 24 teams from all over Vermont, New York and New Hamphire competing for five spots to attend the NAQT National Championship in Chicago over Memorial Day weekend. We had three teams of four competing, the team consisting of Brendan Farmer, Chris Bergeron, Stefan Deutsch and Kevin Weiss took fifth place, which does give us a spot in the national tourney. The other finalists were MMU in first, CVU in second, South Burlington and Burlington in 3rd and 4th.

2/10/08 - First Round of the State Championship. Essex beat Hanover in one of the most exciting matches in EHS Scholars Bowl history. The team came back from a 140 point deficit to win 350 to 335. This puts us in an excellent position to make the final four in our next match at Champlain College on March 15.

3/15/08 - Second Round of the State Championship. Essex beat MMU,the score was 345 to 215. We are now in the final four, we are the number II seed. We will play Rice on Sat April 5 at 10:50 AM at Champlain College Alumni Auditorium in a semi-final game.

4/5/08 - Final Four Matches - Essex beat Rice 255-200 in the semi-final game. The final game was against Hanover, Essex lost to Hanover by a score of 370-210.
