Color Guard
The VT-781 Color Guard at Essex High School is a proud organization made up of cadets who present the colors at school athletic events, local ceremonies, and various parades and ceremonies throughout the state. We also compete in the Northern New England Drill League with the VT-781 Drill Team against Junior ROTC teams throughout Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine. In recent years, the Color Guard competitive team has placed first, second, or third in almost every competition. The Drill Team and Color Guard combined placed in every competition last season, including second place overall in the league. Color Guards consist of anywhere from four to four to six cadets with the American, Vermont, Air Force, and POW flags and two rifle guards. We will be doing many color guards over the next few weeks as the school year comes to an end so please stop by and watch us.
The Color Guard practices each Wednesday and Friday after school. Please stop by if you desire more information or would like to join.
