COLONEL William (Bill) Kittle
SENIOR AEROSPACE SCIENCE INSTRUCTOR

Colonel William L. Kittle, ’Col K’ , is the Air Force Junior ROTC Department Head/Senior Aerospace Science Instructor (SASI) at Essex High School. He is responsible for managing the overall AFJROTC program at Essex High School and for teaching all of the AFJROTC academic subjects such as The Heritage of Flight, The Science of Flight, The Exploration of Space, and Principles of Management. Colonel Kittle graduated from the US Air Force Academy in 1977. After completing pilot training at Vance AFB, Enid, OK, he was assigned to Shepperd AFB, Wichita Falls, TX as a T-38 instructor with the German/Dutch pilot training program there. His career has spanned positions as instructor pilot, flight examiner, academic instructor, fighter pilot, squadron flight saftey officer, acquistion officer, and Congressional liasion. Colonel Kittle was born in Meade, Kansas. He is married to the former Colleen Casey. They have two sons, Joshua and Joseph, and a daughter Beth, as well as two grandchildren, Aliza and Isaac.
