Monday, May 20th morning-–Mandatory uniform wear (Service Dress) and formation at 7:15! Last chance to get missing uniform items before the Award Ceremony that evening. We will NOT be providing you last minute items at 5:00 pm! Fail to plan, and you plan to fail!
Monday, 20 May (evening)–Mandatory uniform wear (Service Dress). Annual AFJROTC Award Ceremony. Show time for cadets is at 5:00 pm. Ceremony starts at 6:00 pm in the Essex High School Auditorium. Family and friends are heartily invited to share in recognition of cadet accomplishments over the year.
Friday, 24 May– Mandatory uniform wear (Service Dress). AFJROTC is hosting the EHS Memorial Day Ceremony. Special Guest Speaker: MajGen Cray, Vermont National Guard Adjutant General. We are presenting the colors, introducing the guest speaker and emceeing the ceremony, as well as performing a flag unfurling and folding during taps. Cadets are excused from classes at noon to help set up, and the ceremony runs from 1:30 pm until 2:15 pm.
Friday, 24 May–Memorial Day Vigil at the Five-Corners war memorial. Uniform: Service Dress. Stay up all night at the fire station, and take shifts at the memorial.
Saturday, 25 May–The Memorial Day celebration continues!! All Cadets march in the parade! Uniform: Service Dress. Cadets need to be in place, inside the Champlain Valley Fairgrounds near Gate F, no later than 9:00 am. You must enter through the main gate (Gate A), off Pearl Street. See the attached picture for our marshaling area.

Parade steps off and leaves gate F of the Champlain Valley Exposition, follows access road to Rte 2A and turns right onto Rte 2A South (Lincoln St), follows Rte 2A south to the Essex Junction 5 corners (where reviewing stand is). Parade turns right at the 5 corners onto Rte 15 West (Pearl St) follows Pearl St to Exposition gate B (by Bouchard Pierce) where they will turn right and continue to the dispersal area.Total distance approximately: 1 ½ miles
