Air Force JROTC Red Sox Color Guard at Fenway Park
The Vermont 781st Air Force JROTC Color Guard traveled to Fenway Park in Boston, Massachusetts on May 5th, 2010. Four cadets were chosen to present the American Flag and the United States Air Force Flag during the opening ceremony for the Red Sox VS Angeles home game. The Color Guard members consisted of Sophomores Megan Trahan, Alyssa Baker and Mike Kelly and commanded by Junior Alex Mumley-Dupuis. Over 700 different organizations from all across the United States apply each year to present the American Flag for the 81 homes games at Fenway Park. For the past thirty-two years that the Air Force JROTC unit has been in Vermont, this is the first time that we have had the opportunity to branch out of the state and present the colors for professional sport. The Air Force JROTC Color Guard presents the flags at Essex High School home games, VFW events, and several other organizations.
