General Parking Information

 

PLEASE NOTE:

Parents are reminded not to park their vehicles within the bus drop off/pick up area in the front of the Educational Center while waiting to pick up their student athletes. All motor vehicles, other than busses, are prohibited from parking within that area at any time, for any reason. There have been a few "close calls" recently where adults/students getting off the busses have almost been struck by cars within the bus drop off/pick up area.

All faculty who park at the Essex Community Educational Center must register their vehicle with the school and obtain a parking permit.

Student Parking

All students (EHS or CTE) who park at the Essex Community Educational Center must purchase a parking permit, the cost for which is $85.00. Only juniors and seniors are eligible for a parking permit.

There are three parking lots at the Educational Center where students are allowed to park, with designated spaces in each lot. The East and West lots are located at the front of EHS and the entrance to each lot is gained via Educational Drive. Only EHS seniors may park within these lots, and only in the spaces not designated “Faculty” parking. The North parking lot is accessed via Old Colchester Road, and is adjacent to the football/track field. Only EHS juniors and CTE students may park within the North lot. They may park within any marked parking space in the lot.

Parking permits must be clearly displayed on the student’s rear view mirror. If a student parks without purchasing a permit, or if the permit is not clearly visible on the vehicle’s rear view mirror, the student’s vehicle may be towed at the operator’s expense.

Drop-Off and Pick-Up at EHS

In an effort to promote student safety and improve the flow of traffic in front of the high school, student drop-off and pick-up lanes have been added to both the East & West parking lots.

Please ensure that when you drop off your student at the beginning of the school day, or pick your student up at the end of the day, you utilize the drop-off and pick-up lanes within the East and West parking lots rather than park directly in front of the school.

Be advised that you must exit the parking lots from where you entered, thus decreasing the amount of traffic and congestion in front of the school. Only school buses, handicapped persons, and visitors should be parking/discharging students in front of the school. Please help us reduce the amount of traffic in front of the high school, thereby making it a safer environment for all.
