The Albert D. Lawton Geo Bee team won their regional championships on May 3 against a very strong field of schools and individual players. Competing schools included the 2013 defending state Geo Bee champions Charlotte Central School, Shelburne Middle School and last year’s regional winner the Essex Middle School Eagles.   Read More


In ADL’s Family and Consumer Science room, the eighth graders had a career unit where they got to create and work at their very own restaurants.  Read More


The final Parents as Partners meeting for the year will be held Thursday, June 5 at 6:30 p.m. in the library/media center, followed by the ADL School Report Night, which will begin at approximately 7 p.m. This presentation will include an accounting of how we did on our current school action plan, a preview of our new action plan, and a cursory look at the results of this year’s school climate survey.  Read More


ADL eighth-grader Preston Gordon recently competed in the 2014 Vermont State Chess Tournament. Preston finished second out of 21 competitors. The ADL community wishes to congratulate Preston on this hard work and excellent showing.  Read More


Another successful Empty Bowls evening took place on April 10. Students and their unified arts teachers still raised almost $1,000 to put towards organizations that support those in need within our community.   Read More


EHS Athletic Leadership Council is again sponsoring this unique community service competition. Spring sport student-athletes from 12 EHS teams take on both the Albert D. Lawton and the Essex Middle School's sports teams for the first ever tri-school Competitive Giving League competition! Team members are strongly encouraged to recruit as many friends, family members, neighbors, teachers and fellow students as possible to help bring in donation items for our local Heavenly Food Pantry.  Read More


On Saturday, May 3, dozens of youngsters will converge on the grounds at ADL to parade down to Maple Street Park for the Opening Day of the Essex Junction Little League. Members of the ADL Band will lead the teams in the opening day parade, which is scheduled to step off from the ADL parking lot at 9:30 a.m.   Read More
