Need help managing your student’s Food Service account? posted on May 8, 2012

Did you know that you can monitor what food choices your child makes daily?  Through our online service provider, www.myschoolaccount.com, a parent/guardian has the ability to make money transfers from their checking/savings accounts to the child’s Food Service account, as well as get e-mail reminders about low account balances.

If you need help controlling purchases outside of meal choices (such as “a la carte” items), you have a few options, such as: shutting off funds from “a la carte” purchases or limiting the amount of a deposit your child can use for those purchases.  As a result, when the money designated to “a la carte” is spent, the purchase will not be allowed.  Money for “a la carte” can be used for meal purchases (A-line) but not in reverse. A simple e-mail to Bob Clifford, the CCSU Food Service Director, can make this happen. Also, notations on checks for a specific amount to be allowed for “a la carte” purchases can enable cashiers to make split deposit amounts.
