What is the conversation we need to have about bringing more local, fresh produce into our local school food nutrition system?
Join food service professionals, students, school staff, parents, and community members for an opportunity to learn about and discuss increasing the amount of local foods in school meals. Learn about the various factors that affect food service programs, and listen to ideas and initiatives that are working in area schools. Community members will share their perspectives, eating habits, and ideas about how to promote healthy eating in school and reinforce it at home.
Don’t miss the chance to join in this important conversation and explore additional partnerships between schools, community organizations, Vermont FEED (Food Education Every Day), and producers to bring more local products into our schools. We need your voice! Free dinner will be served. Students grade 6 and older welcome to join in the conversation.
